The Career and Technology Department at James Island Charter High School's mission is to develop a competitive and inspired students that will transition into the future workforce. The purpose of Career and Technology Education is to provide students with an education that combines rigorus academic and technical study with the exciteement of dicscovery through small learning communities and career-theme programs. Career and technical education prepares both youth and adults for a wide range of careers. These careers may require varying levels of education – from high school and postsecondary certificates to two- and four-year college degrees. Career and technical education is offered in middle schools, high schools, community and technical colleges and other postsecondary institutions. CTE Department offers a variety of courses that will allow students to complete the majors as part of our JICHS Schools of Study. To view some of the student projects click here.
